I always encourage people to, when they're making "best of" lists, include animated stuff in them. The point is to put animation right next to live action to normalize it. Equate them and don't section it off into its own separate list. Let them exist right next to each other.

✨ Deep in the heart of our galaxy, NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope captured a brilliant star field surrounding Sagittarius A*. Webb’s powerful mid-infrared eyes are giving us unprecedented views of the extreme environment at the center of the Milky Way!

$A bright, densely populated star cluster lies near the center of the image, surrounded by intricate clouds of glowing gas and dust in shades of red, pink, orange, and blue. Dark lanes of dust weave through the nebula, contrasting with the luminous central region. Countless stars are scattered across the field, with a few brighter foreground stars showing Webb's characteristic diffraction spikes. Image Credit: ESA/Webb, NASA & CSA, F. Peißker, J. Lu, F. One of the things about someone in 1965 saying that in 30 years there'd be mars colonies is that 30 years before that you could barely cross the Atlantic in one hop and the Jet engine hadn't been invented, and 30 years before that the longest flights were measured in yards

Please be vocal about not using AI. We have to normalize it. No "I'm not going to say that because it should be assumed. I'm not going to give them this". We don't have time for that shit ideological shit right now. NOW is the time to capitalize on waning favorability. Ppl want human made

Stop fucking using genAI. Not even for a joke, not even for that oh so cutting political satire. Every time you use it, you are actively taking food out of our mouths. You are using the weapon of the enemy. We do not need it.

When people say they’re anti-AI, they’re clearly talking about generative AI in the arts and LLM slop that C-Suite jackoffs want to use to replace them. You know this. I know this. Everyone knows this. So the “then don’t use spellcheck if you hate AI” talking point is disingenuous horseshit.

Hey there folks, if you have a problem with how someone portrays a character in fanfic or fanart, there’s a great hack that's called, "ignore it, it ain't for you." Feel free to apply this every day instead of bothering some creators about your issues.

Saying art “looks like ai” with no ability to say why it looks like ai and then saying it’s actually a “critique” is going to give me an aneurism. Where do you think ai got that style? Just think for like 5 more seconds.

If you're unsure if VP counts as art -- it absolutely does. It's a skill; it takes time & effort to learn those tools. It's posing, & lighting, & composition, & so much editing & tweaking & reworking, & love & care for the subject matter. Just as photography is an art, so is virtual photography.
