Did some what I call “dumpster diving” rockhounding when on a quick trip to Louisiana. A quick run through some parking lot gravel will sometimes pay off. #bluewizardrocks #lapidary #rockhounding #rocktumbling

I don't post a whole lot about Skyrim Dal here, which is funny bc he was the Very First and has been my "main" Dal for over a decade up until BG3 Dal took over my creative bandwidth. Anyway, finally started an idea i've been thinking about for years, bc that's how slowly my brain moves with ideas

The minute shine of light reflecting in night-attuned pupils and the soft red glow of the irises around them are the only indications that a predator is afoot. The vampire does not breathe, his heart does not beat, and he needs not move unless absolutely necessary. When he does move, it is with noiseless precision. Though in the shape of a mer, this night Dalamus emulates something more akin to a stalking sabre cat—crouched low, long ears twitching at every sound, hands and feet placed softly and carefully upon the ground as he makes his approach towards his quarry, a small deer. With an uptilt of his chin, he smells at the air. He is downwind of the unsuspecting animal to keep his presence hidden.

But he is upwind to something else.

#tavqotd #dalamusstrighym Being freshly chased from the Underdark, Dal has never seen the turning of the season (any of them!) I like to imagine he & his LI take walks to enjoy the cooler weather & new colors around. And, of course, as an artist, he starts sketching out Fall-themed jewelry ideas!

Portable a/c was acquired yesterday btw! And my poor dad stayed up late to help me install it in my room at like midnight last night. But it was SO nice to sleep in a cool room again. I say this as if it's been weeks without AC and not a couple days lmao. Listen it's Florida ok! It hot.

#ocqotd #tavqotd #dalamusstrighym Dalamus makes small mistakes in his craft of gemcutting. He's aware that the materials he's working with (stones) are imperfect, and it's that imperfection that makes the final result unique and beautiful, and the work to get there, rewarding. Ironically,

For no specific reason at all I am just putting out a friendly reminder that if someone happens to like a thing in fiction that you don't like and it makes you so angry that you are feeling the need to spew vitriol at people over it, there's this super cool button you should use instead! It's free!

Doing some lovely mushroom foraging in the Underda-- errrr, Aldiirn's tent. Buddy, you live like this??? #bg3 #art 🍄 More Comics 🍄 Patreon 🍄 Ko-Fi 🍄

Baldur's Gate 3 fan comic. Aldiirn whistles as he squeezes his way through a thick forest of giant mushrooms, intent on foraging for dinner.

He happily plucks some glowcaps and browncaps, it's no problem pulling away from the sticky stringspore that tries to pull him in

Nor is it a problem to collect some torchstalk spores for seasoning, especially not for someone who was blessed with the ability to not trigger the explosive fungi, and who definitely isn't about to get jumped by a baby hook horror...

Cough, cough! Aldiirn stumbles out of his tent, forage in one hand, hook horror in the other, and smoke streaming out behind him. His tent is so utterly overgrown with fungi that it's less a shelter and more a portable pocket of Underdark!

this one is very recent, but i never dedicated a separate post to it on bluesky & i still love it so it's gonna be part of my #repostober 💜 #criticalrolefanart #essekthelyss #verinthelyss

digital fanart of Essek and Verin Thelyss from Critical Role. both of them are drow with white hair and light purple skin; Essek has short wavy hair with the bangs swept to one side, and Verin's longer hair is braided into two french braids. they're sitting in armchairs pushed close together, presumably at a formal party, with Verin leaning over to Essek, shielding his mouth with his hand and whispering something to his brother with a smile. his posing is very laid-back, with his left ankle resting on his right knee, and he's holding a stemless wine glass in his left hand, propping it against his leg. Essek is sitting with his legs crossed, looking at something off in the distance and hiding a small smirk behind his wine glass. both of them are dressed in fancy dark layered outfits. the picture employs a limited palette of various shades of brown, purple, red, teal and lemon yellow.

The "time limit" in tbod was almost a dealbreaker but after looking up some things, i guess it's more like currency than a constantly running timer. which is nice. i dont like being told i wont have time to do everything in a single run, but i didn't do everything in Skyrim in a single run even

#tavqotd #dalamusstrighym Gloria learns to read the minute color changes in Dalamus' eyes to know not only when but *why* he's in pain, whether it's an injury he's hiding, illness, or his chronic pain flaring up. The amount of yellow/gold in his red irises shows his pain/illness status.

I actually did once know an artist who was incredibly skilled at their art. Very clean and detailed. But they admitted they viscerally hated every second of it, and not in a joking way. They jumped on the chance to use AI for it the instant they could. It was so disappointing.
