A cool verification tidbit: since the Google DeepMind (GDMI) went "live" last year at NHC, it's been the most accurate track forecast 2-3 times as often as OFCL and 4-5 times as often as any of the physics models. For intensity, OFCL is still most frequently the best forecast, except at 5 days.

Here's the link to official guidance, I had totally missed this. www.agu.org/annual-meeti... Stay within your taped out space? Sheesh
NEW FOR AGU26: Poster boards will be shared by two presenters.

Maximum poster size: 44 inches wide × 44 inches high (3.67 feet × 3.67 feet).
Allow for a 2.54-centimeter (1-inch) border
Posters are best positioned horizontally to match the layout of the display board.
Place images, text, logos, etc. at least 2.54 centimeters (1-inch) from the edge.
Shared boards: Two presenters will share each side of a poster board. Designated tape will distinguish each presenter’s assigned space.
Stay within your space: Your poster and all accompanying materials must fit entirely within your assigned area and may not extend into the neighboring presenter’s space.

With both Lake Powell and Lake Mead at record-lows, here’s a look at how their water levels have varied since Powell was filled in 1980. Neither has recovered from a severe drought in the early 2020s, while Colorado River flows continue to drop. #dataviz #climate #globalwarming
Two graphs of water stored in Lake Powell (left) and lake Mead (right). The data are measured over the water year, which runs from October 1st to October 1st. Years when the lake level increased are marked in blue, years when they decreased are marked in red. Levels in Lake Powell maxed out at about 24-million-acre–feet in the early 1980s, and are currently just over 5-million-acre-feet. Lake Mead was just over 25-million acre-feet in the early 1980s and late 1990s, but is now just under 7-million acre-feet.
