Love that he announced this yesterday on International Day of Older Persons. They just love reminding older ppl that they don't matter. Fwiw, from my policy experience in the age sector I am convinced that the pension triple lock is a highly successful policy that should be emulated not scrapped.

I've been feeling the same way and trying to figure out what is going on with our generation. It might be to do with having a kid the same age as the Quinn boys as well as sadness because of how hard we've all worked to change things, even when it doesn't feel like much has changed. Solidarity.x

Having just gotten home from spending the afternoon on the road I totally agree with this. I don't believe SF are whipping anything up; they are doing what they can to support a traumatised community. As are many other people who've showed up today in solidarity.

An interesting piece by Walter, and good to include Belfast's grassroots women's activists. But I resist the idea that women just need to put our differences aside and work together. When some women are choosing fascism, our differences matter. I think the piece hints at that complexity though.

If the EHRC had any integrity as an NHRI they would admit that the UKSC judgement cannot be interpreted in a way that excludes trans ppl without breaching rights contained in the GRA and other privacy protections. The only path to actual clarity is for govt to prevent regression through legislation.

Look at this graph. The share of national income going to the richest 10 percent was lowest (and share to lower 90 percent highest) when union membership was at its highest. As unions have weakened, inequality has widened. This is why we must build back union power.
