I recently reviewed a paper on "decolonizing ecology" 🧐 for a leading ecology journal. The other 2 reviews sounded strikingly similar to each other (same voice). On closer inspection, the content and structure overlapped about 90% and included some nearly identical sentences 👀

Has any journal tried an outright ban, including for grammar, "clarity", and "polishing". It sometimes seems the "AI" product has altered the authors' intended meaning in parts of the text (e.g. increasing certainty) when "guessing" the authors' intention.
