Gutted not to be up in Warwick for #HumanDev26 - having been at every one of @dev-journal.bsky.social's human development meetings so far, this is a real wrench. But it was great to help initiate the collaboration with HDBI on this event, and I'm excited to hear all about it over the next few days!

Alex and James have done a great job here in articulating the conflicting issues we face with the dreaded Impact Factor. We all know it’s a highly flawed metric for so many reasons, but its influence is so pervasive across the research ecosystem that it’s hard to completely ignore it.
