I went to see De Gaulle: Résistance last night and I have just come home from the very good humoured SIPTU/IFUT/UNITE picket at the UCD Clonskeagh Gate, so all I can say is: Bon courage, mes braves! ✊️

Does anyone know how to spell what I (and my my family) pronounce as "furim", meaning an indoor wooden bench. We had two, one on either side of an open fireplace in the kitchen. My father closed up the fireplace in the 1970s. I remember sitting on a 'furim' & looking up the chimney to the open sky.

I look forward to finding out what the plans are to address the directional nature of the acoustic in the new hall!

Wonderful. One player to a part plus continuo: intimate and conversational. Suzuki’s cadenza in No.5 felt like he was improvising on the spot. The trumpet in No. 2 took a while to settle but the Hall was on the player’s side! The one thing I would change is the venue: the acoustic offers no support.

The pavlova broke its bounds. I got carried away with the cream so when the roasted plums landed on top, the meringue gave way... 😬 It was delicious nevertheless!
