I can tell there are projections but idk wtf they are - which sucks because they were very cool in set 1

I want to scream at whoever did the (admittedly super cool) set for the 2nd set for completely forgetting about sightlines. There’s 2 sections to my right… can they see anything?

I’m glad I go to a specialist now, but if I still went to my old gynecologist I’d be shoving this paper in her face and saying “See? SEE? I am in perimenopause and I do need HRT! It can absolutely happen in your thirties!” I really like the idea of keeping my brain and reducing fracture risk.

It's #FossilFriday, and indeed the final scheduled Friday that the Academy of Natural Sciences of Philadelphia is open to the public, potentially forever. So it's finally time to, once again, talk about Haddy — and bring it all full circle. Strap in, it's a big one.
A heavily retouched photograph (c. 1870?) of the mounted skeleton of Hadrosaurus foulkii inside the Academy's old building at the corner of Broad & Sansom Sts (in fact, the only known photograph of this building's interior). A man stands under the skeleton, identity unknown

I’m cheating a bit by lumping the Mass Effect games into one slot (honestly, the Baldur’s Gate games should also be lumped together, as should Myst/Riven/etc and the Sims franchise), and Oregon Trail is only on there because 9 Games didn’t have Hitchhiker’s Guide in their database.
A 3 by 3 grid of video game box art. Top row: Sid Meier’s Alpha Centauri, World of Warcraft, Starship Titanic. Middle row: Myst, Mass Effect: Legendary Edition, The Sims. Bottom row: Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Age of Empires II: Age of Kings, Oregon Trail II.

The Pabenham-Clifford Hours

England,
c. 1315-1320
MS 242

"Folio 2 v
Annunciation with John de Pabenham and Joan Clifford kneeling in the lower margin (Hours of the Virgin)

Underdrawing for the draperies is visible in the infrared image, as well as through the semi-transparent paint used in the Virgin’s pink mantle. This garment was painted with a mixture of an insect-based red dye, lead white and gypsum (hotspot 1), while Gabriel’s dark pink tunic contains a red dye mixed with chalk (hotspot 2). Gabriel’s blue-grey wings contain azurite blue and small quantities of an organic red, as can be seen under magnification (hotspot 4). The tooled gold leaf in the background was additionally decorated by painting a pattern of spirals with an arsenic sulphide yellow pigment, likely orpiment (hotspot 5)."
