To see you through another rainy night. Episode 138 - Ocean peace above Folkestone beach (31 mins) Rising thermals, from far below, carry up the ocean's murmurings. The sound of a cricket merges with the waves. A *sleep safe* episode to take you to bed with summer in your ears > bit.ly/LenFolk2

I hate Christmas, not least because all manner of foolish folk send me cards with robins on them. Hateful birds. Don't they know robins are a death omen? Who in their right minds sends you one of them through the post? The Royal Mail ought to make it illegal. – Shirley Deyne #VOH

There are some places that on approach, we just know to be ghost-soaked. There is a prickling of our psychic skin. An inner voice which repeats one word every louder: Haunted. Our bodies generate gooseflesh, instant headaches – physical warnings of phantom peril. – #CJosiffe #Ghosts

Our increasingly noisy world has been linked to cardiovascular disease, anxiety and depression, as well as hearing loss. But that’s not the only reason we need more peace and quiet in our lives

I love this! When I'm mentoring YA writers, I always ask what they think of Twilight, and if they're disparaging, I know they don't get YA *at all*. Twilight is beloved because it speaks directly to first teen love. It takes teen love as seriously as teens take it www.theguardian.com/science/2024...
