I gotta say, having a MiSTer device right next to a ps1 and a SNES and testing them back and forth on the same CRT TV has informed me that... Yeah, that's good enough for me. Weirdly(?) I still would rather use my SD2SNES cart for the SNES and... I'd probably rather have a card reader for the PS1.

After last week’s record smoke, folks seemed incredulous that this may be a regular thing and that we apparently didn’t see it coming. June 2023 could've been an isolated event, but 3/4 years is trend. So I went to literature to see what climate scientists actually projected about this risk.

The preliminary data from Ohio EPA for yesterday are in. It was the most widespread bad air quality day in Ohio's history. We had PM2.5 exeedances at 30 monitors (up from 25 on 7/16) and set records in 8 cities. While the intensity of the smoke was not as bad as Thursday, it affected more people.

Not a revelatory idea at all: I just recently uninstalled nearly all of my social media apps from my phone (bluesky is on there because it eventually "ends") and I keep catching myself pulling out my little serotonin machine and just expecting it to do the thing it did before. A friend is starting a Roleplaying night and one of the players went and bought a new D&D Player's Handbook. We JUST discovered that it is different from the PHBs we all have. I lived through the 3.0 / 3.5 stuff but I had zero clue they had made a new one and just called it the same thing.
