Not sure why anyone bothers with anti-AI activism when the most effective strategy would be to just point as many microphones as possible to its most vocal champions.

I think we're within a few years of Democrats/liberals/leftists being forced to make a hard choice between coddling violent drivers in our cities -- blocking traffic enforcement, defending "free" parking, saying $75,000 cars are for the "working class" -- and realizing those are fascist positions.

If I say that something is less dangerous than cars and you infer from that that I'm saying that it is necessarily safe and unproblematic, you're going to interpret a lot of things I say - and, quite frankly, the world around you - exactly wrong

The fallacy of the climate movement's electric car advocacy is belief it's faster to get people into EVs than into walkable homes where they can drive less. The reality is it's probably ten times faster to build homes in walkable neighborhoods than to convince people to buy electric cars.

We need third spaces and dense walkable communities. That is the thing that fascists fear most: organic, informal relationships and networks that they can't control. It's also why they are doing everything they can to lock in another generation of American car dependency

Nice work, Raleigh NC. Combining a protected bike lane with a continuous sidewalk creates necessary friction. The elevation change acts as a hard design cue, physically reminding motorists they are crossing a pedestrian domain, not the other way around.

If executive branch creates a system so that people under government control can be located and then just stops listing some people in that system — despite their still being under government control — that should be a five-alarm fire for the other branches, the states, and the public.

Electric cars are better than fossil fuel ones. They are still hugely harmful. They should not be the main target of transport subsidies. Electric car drivers are not the people most fucked over by fuel subsidies & in some ways they benefit. Driving an electric car does not make you a fucking hero.

People can be made so completely dependent on drugs, that they perceive those drugs to represent “freedom” for them. But can anything you’re that dependent on really make you “free?” That seems like a really warped defination of freedom. Now replace “drugs” with “cars.” Discuss. #CarDependency
