1 / 3 Americans can’t rely on personal cars to get around. Some are too old or too young Some have disabilities Some can’t afford it And some just can’t get a license For these people, every week is a week without driving, so why aren’t we doing more to help a third of our neighbors get around?

As seen on a bus in Copenhagen. And it’s true. Even if you assumed every car was filled to capacity, a bus still carries as many as 6 or more cars in the space of 2 or 3 cars. And cars are rarely filled to capacity.

Transit can be internationally iconic! We often have people act as if transit is just a means of transportation (and which is the primary role), but good transit is so much more than that. It becomes a part of the city and regional identity, a part of the culture and symbology of a place.
