in books written for children there is a charming simplicity, the warmth of bright colors, & sometimes great illustrations i can’t relate to adults who read YA books (or to adults on social media who rant & complain abt those adult readers) but i am a sucker for books written for 3 to 7 yrs old

St. Patrick’s cave and well in the cliffs below Llanbadrig Church, Anglesey. The cave entrance is much shorter than it would have been due to lots of roof collapse in recent years and it is quite dangerous to visit. The entrance area was surrounded by Golden Samphire plants.

this memoir is very good, a very unusual & varied life recounted seemingly without pretentiousness or embellishment. (the author is the musician behind that band The Eels that first gained prominence around 1996) i read more memoirs than novels these days
