Chris Weston posted some pages yesterday from his & Rob Williams’ brilliant 2013 Superman tale “Saviour”. Looking again, I’m struck by how meticulously CW’s layouts carry the eye across the page. It’s done with such masterly skill & emotional heft the reader might not even consciously notice it.

Book Block: Hobtown Mystery Stories Vol 1 - The Case of the Missing Men, Kris Bertin: With art like the old Nancy Drew books, this graphic novel delves into the darkness living just under the surface of a very strange coastal town. It’s dark, engaging & has a timeless feel. #booksky 💙🩸 #crochet 🧶

Can anyone smarter than me explain how the government aims to create new pre-strike binding mediation legislation (which essentially removes striking as an active tool), yet claims that it will "never interfere with a worker’s right to bargain or to strike?" Because this seems, uh, bad!

This is an old man post but new bed is THE anniversary gift. New bed for the missus plus big box for the kids AND old mattress in the living room (they're currently pretending the box is a time machine that takes them to different bounce-heavy timelines). This is a big win as a husband and father.

This is lovely. Comics doesn’t always, always break your heart. (Added alt text.)

Dear Alec:
Your Mother tells me that you are in bed and are unable to work.

She also indicates that you are concerning yourself unnecess-
arily over your deadline.

When a guy is healthy end on his feet and doesn't produce his
work, we raise hell. But when he is flat on his back, that's another story.

It seems to me that the more you disturb yourself thinking about deadlines, the longer It's going to take you to get well, so relax and forget about it. National Comics will still manage to produce magazines. Of course, we will produce better ones when Toth is producing, but Toth won't produce until he relaxes, so relax.

If you run short of money, have your Mother give me a ring
and I will shoot over a check.

Your assignment for the moment, however, is to get better and
as quickly as you can. Everything else takes second place.

Sincerely,

Sheldon Mayer, Editor
