I think folks who ride for transit or on busy roads know this on a deep level. Every complaint about helmets or rolling stop signs or riding two abreast or empty bike lanes or entitled riders is pure misdirection. The core issue: They don't want riders on the road. When the average score on a take-home midterm was 96, a professor at Brown was concerned students were cheating with AI. Almost 20 students dropped the class after he switched the final to in person. Also, more people have placed a bet in the last year than have read a book. I’m sure it’s fine.
