This poor boy, after suffering from a bath, was so eager to get downstairs and out of his bathrobe that he tripped down three stairs and fell out of his bathrobe entirely. He is uninjured, save for his pride. He got a filled bone as recompense, and he allowed me to put the robe back on him.

I love finding other queer people at work. Got my flu shot just now and while chatting with the two nurses, mentioned that "my husband got both shots on Tuesday." The female nurse, immediately: "My wife did the same thing." Sailed straight by the straight male nurse. But we saw each other. 🌈🌈🌈

My student loan payment just went up over $600/month because of some new repayment shenigans that started this year. 🤬😭🤬 My income did not go up enough to justify that change. Nearly had a breakdown at work over it but a fellow chaplain talked me through it, took me on a walk, & helped me breathe.

Earlier this year, I had a patient in her early 80s with newly diagnosed cancer. When talking about her reasons to keep living, she said she wanted to outlive that "orange motherfucker". (Then apologized for swearing in front of the chaplain.) Anyway, I agreed that was a valid reason to keep going.

These participation ribbons I got the one year I did swimming as a kid are definitely the reason I'm gay.

I once met up with a NaNoWriMo group (about 10 of us) at an IHOP. This was a kickoff event, so it started at 11pm on Halloween. Half of us showed up in costume and, 5 minutes to midnight, we pulled out our laptops. Then we counted down to midnight and then wrote in silence for 2 hours.

In undergrad, I wrote an essay on the Odyssey and how much Odysseus cried. (It was a lot. And mostly about how much he missed his wife.) It was also about how this character is often portrayed as a "man's man" and yet did a thing so many modern American men would be ashamed of.
