Hi, I'm the ProPublica reporter who's been tracking an unusual stat: U.S. citizens grabbed by immigration agents. I did it because the government isn’t. This is what I found.
White words on a black background read:

50+
Immigration agents have the authority to detain whom they reasonably suspect are in the country illegally. We found more than 50 Americans who were held after agents questioned their citizenship. They were almost all Latino.

~130
Agents also can arrest citizens who allegedly interfered with or assaulted officers. We compiled cases of about 130 Americans, including a dozen elected officials, accused of assaulting or impeding officers.

~20
Among the citizens detained are nearly 20 children, including two with cancer.

finally a reasonable take
Liberals and the left do not need the right to
be online in the way that the right needs
liberals and the left. The nature of reactionary
politics demands constant confrontations-
literal reactions- to the left. People like Rufo
would have a substantially harder time trying
to influence opinions on a platform without
liberals. "Triggering the libs" sounds like a
joke, but it is often essential for segments of
the right. This explains the popularity of some
X accounts with millions of followers, such as
Libs of TikTok, whose purpose is to troll
liberals.
The more liberals leave X, the less value it
offers to the right, both in terms of cultural
relevance and in opportunities for trolling.

“When the state begins to regulate what we can teach at the level of the university,” said Katie Rainwater, whose class, Sociology of Gender, is marked for removal from the core curriculum, “then we have to question whether the university can serve its social function, which is to be a place of free inquiry.”

⚠️ One of the most important revelations I've ever had on social networks, please read and share if appropriate. Alt text included. I've been blessed to have had a big platform for a long time. I get to see these things.
So, something weird happened a year and a half ago I've never talked about. It was a direct message from a white supremacist.

They linked me a tweet of theirs, and asked me to mock them. What I said it didn't matter, just as long as I quote-tweeted their message.

Which is a pretty interesting tactic. They thought their meme was compelling enough and had enough latent support it would be a net-win.

They already had 10s of thousands of seeming legitimate followers. Ever since then, Ive been really hesitant to amplify others' "bad tweets"

Is in no way stating "ignore them and they'll go away" but in this case they actively tried to court me to help them spread their message.

If it seems like someone would have to know the right answer to be this wrong, that's because they do. And they posted it anyway, which means you are entering an interaction they engineered for a purpose. You are entering a shooting gallery from the wrong end.
