Woodbine United Methodist Church had its windows smashed out recently. Their insurance deductible is $10k. They're raising $ to cover the deductible & to do some other needed repairs. This data point needs to be front of mind for every city planner, engineer, and CM For every vocal opponent of bike lanes, there is a strong supporter. The other half of Nashvillians are conditional supporters that will buy-in when we demonstrate all the great benefits of bike lanes

Four people died over Easter weekend on our roads, all under 31 years old. Two more people were killed crossing Lafayette, after someone was seriously injured a week prior. Pedestrian fatalities are up significantly year-to-date. We need more resources and urgency for Vision Zero, not less

Today’s sidewalk and bike lane blockages (also reported to Hub): - Metro water truck blocking sidewalk and bike lane next to three open parking spaces - Truck and not pictured trailer fully blocking multi-use path outside Federales restaurant. No room for a wheelchair or bicycle to safely pass

The sponsor keeps saying this won’t ban e-bikes but it WILL allow cities or TDOT to restrict e-bikes on any street they decide it’s necessary. Meanwhile, a separate bill passed that stripped local authority to restrict delivery robots on bike lanes + sidewalks More rights for robots than e-bikers

I thank Director Alarcon for her work with NDOT. I regularly disagreed with decisions and priorities but I acknowledge the weight and challenges of leading a DOT both as far behind and expansive as Nashville. Ultimately, I always want our leadership to bring Nashville to the greatness it deserves.
