I've been saying for weeks, these people aren't pivoting to transphobia to get votes. They're using their vote lead to pivot towards transphobia. Their careers will survive the hit of a losing campaign, and they'll gladly take that hit if it means they get to be openly disgusted by us again.

I'm getting steadily less convinced by the argument that centrist Dems are doing this as an electoral-math tactic. Because as a tactic it makes absolutely no sense. They want to remove our rights because they hate us. And they'll blame us if they lose because they hate us.

I really need someone to explain the math behind believing that trans people are too small a group to risk losing centrist votes by standing for their rights, but also believing it's trans folks' fault if a transphobic candidate they don't vote for loses.

7+ years, from "oh god I'm out in public, hope no-one looks at me" to "proudly and fiercely OUT in public". If Id been told 10 years ago, at 54, that a decade later I'd look like this - and more importantly I'd feel like this - I'd assume they'd been drinking. It's NEVER too late. ❤️🏳️‍⚧️
