Honored to be named the runner-up for the Science & PINS Prize for Neuromodulation, with my essay now published by @science.org science.org/doi/10.1126/... The essay lays out how mapping the brain's functional circuits lets us move neuromodulation from deep toward the brain surface.

In case this important point gets overlooked: along with our Nature paper, we’ve publicly released two large and scarce datasets—PIPD and PIET. IMHO, these are the best open Parkinson's and Tremor datasets available to date. See threads (1/4) 👇 nature.com/articles/s41...

Good news for Parkinson's sufferers. These researchers should review recent papers on Essential Tremor. ET researchers have identified the back of the brain as the ET problem area, the same area identified as part of the Parkinson's problem. Potential for beneficial cooperation. (I have ET.)

Targeting the somato-cognitive action network (SCAN) rather than motor regions doubles efficacy of TMS treatments for Parkinson’s disease. Seems that various DBS targets for Parkinson’s are selectively connected to the SCAN rather than effector-specific motor regions.🧪 www.nature.com/articles/s41...

Why are gliomas overwhelmingly found in the action-mode network (AMN)? Could its function be contributing or is it that its function lines up with gene expression & receptor patterns? Either way, it raises the possibility of using inhibitory neuromod of the AMN to treat gliomas. #cancerneuroscience
