There's a lot of research to suggest multisport participation up to a certain age is more advantageous than year round focus on one specialty. Also, yes better competition generally makes you better, but there's a lot to be said for coaching focused on fundamentals over winning for much of childhood

I had a VW rental car last year and EVERYTHING was a touch screen. AC, volume control, everything. Felt really unsafe how often I had to look away from the road. I hated it. When I returned it, the person at Enterprise said "yeah everyone hates the VWs."

I used to lose my voice whenever I got sick, like Kathryn said. Then I learned cough drops dry out your vocal cords, so now I only use them if I'm coughing too much to sleep or can't cough in a meeting. Also Throat Coat Tea helps if you think to drink it proactively.

I hadn't heard of this controversy before now, but it's really great to see one of my favorite comic creators come to the defense of one of my other favorites. Also this is really well articulated and I gained a new appreciation for the level of visual research that goes into nonfiction comics.

Everyone in STL is getting bombarded with ads that say Cori Bush is bad for jobs in St Louis. Actually look into what they're referencing, and it's because she opposes sending arms to Israel. Some of those bombs are made locally by Boeing. A vote for Wesley Bell is a vote for genocide.

St Louis County has 88 municipalities and 10 "unincorporated census-designated places." Population right around a million. It's really stupid. The next county over, "Saint Louis City" only has the one municipality.

Last year we planted a ton of pollinator attracting wildflowers in a chunk of our garden that we were sick of weeding, and we got a lot more tomatoes and peppers than anyone else I know. Our backyard constantly being full of bumblebees, butterflies, and occasionally hummingbirds probably helped.

Every time I go to California, one of the most important parts of the itinerary is "have some of the best Asian food I've had since I left China." When I was in SF in January I had actual Mongolian food for the first time in 16 years. It was incredible.
