They made it very clear twitter was a nazi bar and now they’re terrified that people don’t want to hang out there anymore
Twitter ceo Linda Yaccarino doing some desperate PR: On Twitter, everyone's voice matters.

Whether you’re here to watch history unfold, discover REAL-TIME information all over the world, share your opinions, or learn about others -- on Twitter YOU can be real.

YOU built the Twitter community. 🙏👏 And that's irreplaceable. This is your public square.

We're often imitated -- but the Twitter community can never be duplicated.

Today a friend asked what's up with COVID vaccines. In short, there's a new version coming this fall that targets the now-prevalent XBB.1.5 strain. My guess is that this will be made available to all US adults. I will be getting it if so. jamanetwork.com/journals/jama/fulla…

One of the Twitter Files clowns asked me in an interview what the biggest problem with social media is. My answer was very simple: unaccountable private power. He chose not to print the interview. It is not a public square. That metaphor deceives the public into thinking it controls the space.

ALSO for the new folks: do you like threads? Do you want to see people's replies? By default, you don't see people's replies here until they have a couple of likes. To change that, follow these steps.
Go to the sidebar in your BlueSky account and select "Settings."Once in Settings, scroll to the Advanced section and select "Home Feed Preferences."See where it says "Show replies" ? There's a slider allowing you to adjust how many likes a reply must have to be shown in your feed. It's set to 2 by default. If you slide that slider all the way to the left, the text above it will change to "Show all replies." Now you will see all the replies!

Right wing masculinity influencers were deeply invested in the idea that Russia’s supposedly invincible army would triumph because it was more “manly” and then they were fought to a stalemate by a jewish comedian and have now collapsed into infighting with the mercenary army of a nazi hot dog vendor

Contributing my first post here. A detailed analysis of work from home and return to office in the US economy. The answer here is clear. Factory workers get way more done when all the managers and engineers have to do their projects from home.
Non-farm productivity with the covid work from home and fortune 100 return to the office initiatives marked.

Do liberals understand that by enforcing the rule of law in the face of overt, confessed-to federal crimes, they are destroying norms we don’t care about and unleashing a retaliatory abuse of the system that we were planning to do if we felt like it anyway?

a thing I've been thinking lately is that if the purpose of a system is what it does then you have to look at building a social media app/protocol/w/e as making a potential Genocide Machine (see: Myanmar) and have this huge moral responsibility to do everything you can to keep it from becoming one

Bluesky aims to be Mastodon + algorithmic feeds + a better experience moving accounts between instances. As an end user, I’d have preferred this was done in a manner compatible with Mastodon versus being a competing service. I doubt either will get to critical mass but perhaps together they might.

So it sounds like the Air Force was aware of several separate incidents showing Teixeira was accessing and copying sensitive intelligence information outside of his job description. Whomever decided not to revoke his access after the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th time should also face accountability.

Musk’s embrace of deranged white supremacist conspiracy theories on $8chan does help to demonstrate that it wasn’t economic anxiety pushing people to embrace Trump, rather it was a toxic stew of self-loathing, entitlement, resentment, and bigotry.
