ACTION ITEM-----ACTION ITEM Implementation of Schedule F This is what a lot of us have been worried about. This allows for many civil service positions to replaced with political appointees. This could include NIH institute directors and even POs. BUT THERE IS A COMMENT PERIOD... 1/n

For the outstanding diversity F31 awardees I’ve had the pleasure of working with, you are deserving of those awards. You are doing amazing work and I know you will continue to do so. I took my position to help trainees navigate funding & their careers and will continue to do so.

The NIH study section I'm serving on for student/postdoc fellowships has been rescheduled for late April (good). But the diversity fellowship apps have been eliminated from the review list (very bad). Extremely frustrating that they couldn't even be reclassified as standard fellowship apps.

HEADS UP: If anyone is submitting an app this week or soon, check with your grants office to make sure they have language that allows them to correct indir cost recovery if the 15% level is modified. It is likely that they will be on top of this, but it's possible to lock in the low rate by mistake
