A juicy glorpulent fungus and a leathery crunchulent fungus. Lots of different sorts out at the moment.
A toadstool with a thick white stem and a bulbous top. The cap has crazy paving patterns on the sides and a nasty looking sphincter at the tip. The sides are coated in a very shiny, grey-green, evil looking goo. Two slugs are eating the stem.A huge shelf fungus on a fallen tree. It looks like a brown cockle shell, with slightly more pale areas where the skin has peeled.

If immigration is a problem, as politicians have told us for decades it is, why don't they ever stop it? The answer is; it not a problem it's vital. But it's a very useful shiny bauble to distract you racist mugs with, while politicians sell off your nurseries and hospitals to their donors.

My wild strawberry plant is now a sprawling morass of wild strawberry plants, but not a single flower or fruit all year. There's apparently a 'barren' species, but that flowers without fruits. So I don't think that's the issue here. Maybe next year? Not that it matters too much, it's still nice. 🙂

I plopped a spare sunflower seedling here earlier in the year and kept forgetting about it. Now it's produced the world's tiniest sunflower. My mood has been arse recently and I keep feeling really bad for neglecting it, even though it obviously doesn't care. Maybe I need my meds checked again. 😟

Getting started on next year's carrot seeds 🙂 It'll be interesting to see if these grow into bizarre mutant shapes like the last batch. That was fun.

Another photo taken by holding binoculars in front of my phone 😂 Pretty cool to see a sailing ship doing what sailing ships do. It was blowing a hooley though so I expect even that little sail at the front was doing some work.

When they say we can't afford the state pension or the NHS or any other unversal service, what they mean is they want to hoard even more wealth to add to their mountains of gold, and they're willing to let us die in the gutter rather than enjoy a retirement, to get it.

I love this lil crystal guy so much. The real hero. 🥹
Jeffy's FFXIV character standing above the injured Crystal Exarch, in a cutscene. They are both holding onto the same magic staff. Jeffy's character is wearing light mail in red and white, the traditional colours of a White Mage. The Exarch is a cat person and is covered in glowing cyan crystal shards that are obviously causing him pain. The two are looking at each other with a shared resolve.Jeffy's FFXIV character and the Crystal Exarch jointly holding the Exarch's staff high as it radiates a blinding white light.

Beach find 🙂 I dunno if these are variations of the same critter or if they're different, but they're pretty either way. I may have cheated and wet them a bit before the photo to make the colours pop out.
Six sea snail shells, 3 of each type. They are the same swirl shape with a flattish apex, but some have bright yellow whirls and some a vibrant orange.

I saw this thing when I was up on the coast. Apparently some sort of wind turbine installation ship? Pretty cool! Managed to snap it by putting binoculars in front of my phone camera 😅
A photo of a huge construction ship on a grey sea. It has a big crane and lots of upright structures. Some are legs so it can stabilise on the sea bed, but others might actually be part of the turbine.

I really like this stuff. It's called "sea sandwort" and it's a weird beach succulent type thing that forms big mats on the high shoreline. I suspect it wouldn't grow well away from the beach, or I'd be trying it in pots already. (Apparently also known as "sea chickweed", because of course it is!)

I have some good old home grown 𝘢𝘣𝘦𝘳𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 to share today. First appears to be leek seeds germinating while still in the seed head, which is certainly a choice. The second is a nearly done flowering stem from a fancy cabbage, which seems to have grown multiple whole new flowering plants? Fun!

Check out 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 chonker! A wasp, I'm assuming, but it seemed quite a lot chunkier and robust compared to the usual ones I see zooming around here. She (?) seemed quite happy on my runner beans, and I'm very happy for her to be there munching on pests.

My vervain clump is looking very happy. It's turned out far better than I expected! There's supposed to be devil's bit scabious in there too, and it's still hiding under the surface, but it seems to grow a lot slower than the vervain 😅

The unopened buds look a little like tiny green ears of wheat.A closer shot of the flowers. They have five petals that blend from white in the centre to pale pink on the edges. The core is a pale yellow-green colour.Closeup on the tip of a flowerhead. Pink flowers are emerging near the bottom while a cluster of green unopened buds tapers up to the tip like a plantain.
