I can’t emphasize this enough — “AI” wasn’t born corrupt and toxic. For ~75 years, it was mathematicians and scientists doing interesting, thoughtful work and trying to solve problems, making only the usual human mistakes. What “AI” did to machine learning is as tragic as what it did to artists.

I had a Nissan 200SX. Absolutely gutless, parts were made of unobtanium, and it rusted like it was its only job, but I loved sitting in it and just standing around looking at it. Pop-up headlights!

I used to have to take the minutes for the model train club and we obviously didn't have a copy machine, so I'd make a carbon. I used the club's Remington Rand Streamliner to type them up. That was the last time I was using carbon paper, but yeah, it was obsolete even then.
