To be clear, the Ontario government still owns the underlying land and assets of Highway 407, which under private control became one of the costliest toll highways in the world. It’s still privatization, and the Carney Liberals should stop falsely claiming it isn’t #cdnpoli

It's not right that energy companies rake in inflated profits while ordinary people struggle. That's why we're proposing to tax windgall profits made by these companies, and use that money to fund our Solar for All plan. This is a common sense policy – it's up to FF and FG to adopt it.

Ford walked away from an offer to restore travel lanes and keep bike lanes. The RFP makes clear that the province is still targeting EVERY SINGLE METRE of Bloor, Yonge, and University. This wasn't just a ploy to remove bike lanes in Etobicoke. It's an attempt to gut Toronto's entire cycling network.

Second, Ford’s government has put out an RFP for companies to rip out three major bike lanes: Bloor, Yonge, University, and Queen’s Park, Queen’s Park Crescent, and Avenue Road. Bike lanes move far more people than car lanes do. ->
The capacity of a single 10-foot lane (or equivalent width) by mode at peak conditions with normal operations.

PRIVATE MOTOR VEHICLES
600-1,600 PER HOUR

MIXED TRAFFIC WITH FREQUENT BUSES

TWO-WAY PROTECTED BIKEWAY
DEDICATED TRANSIT LANES
7,500 PER HOUR

Bikes aren’t the reason why traffic is bad. Cars getting in the way of other cars are. The best way to reduce traffic is to give people other options to get around. That means bikes. And transit. And pedestrian-first streets.

I'm honoured to have the support and endorsement of David Miller, our city's former Mayor and a fellow Parkdale—High Park resident.
Picture of a tall, white haired man smiling in a blue blazer. He has his hand on the shoulder of a dark-haired woman in a brown jacket, who also smiles at the camera. The photo has a pink frame, with text that reads "David Miller, Former Mayor of Toronto, Endorses Diana Chan McNally."Dark purple text on a light background, with a picture of a smiling man with white hair in the top right of the image. The text reads, "Diana has made a significant difference to the lives of our neighbours through her work on building affordable housing. She immediately organized when Doug Ford threatened our waterfront with Jets, and she supports badly needed local solutions to the climate crisis that, in partnership with others, can help prevent more extreme weather events like the wildfire smoke this summer. Diana is effective, principled and clear. She has my support to serve all of Parkdale-High Park as our next City Councillor."
