Everyone talks about how stupid I am. They actively follow my life and shake their head in pitiful disbelief and disappointment with what they observe. Later on, they gather without me and have in-depth discussions of all my failures and shortcomings.

I’ve run campaigns and worked on campaigns. If you don’t vote, do you know how much we worry about what you think? Zilch. Zero. We don’t waste money contacting you, knocking your door, trying to figure out what you want. You’re a political nullity, triaged away in favor of consistent voters.

A """funny""" thing I've noticed is that if you see a buckwild and totally made up claim on Reddit and then search that claim on Google, trying to source it, the Gemini AI summary will be like "oh, yeah, that totally happened, and my source is that three hour old Reddit thread you were just reading"

It annoys me when nominal support for LGBT rights is used instrumentally to push for clout or unrelated goals. But I *really* hate it when it’s treated as basically a cringe bourgeois affectation, whether it be the right, left, or center that’s pulling out that old canard.

"truly it was out of curiosity"
Truly it was out of curiosity: why a person with unlimited resources exhibits so little appreciation or even awareness of the things that most people value as giving meaning to life. Just minimally well to do people donate to charities, local museums & libraries & the like; they support the commonweal. & unlike the very wealthy these people pay high income taxes.

also, in keeping with Vance’s view of american identity, only white people are fully American with the right to critique or dissent. nonwhites must show proper gratitude (supporting Trump or marrying JD Vance) before they can speak critically of the country (in approved ways, of course)

When a liberal is murdered, we shouldn’t speculate about the political motives of the killer. When a conservative is murdered, it’s important that we immediately blame the left.

One of those takes that seems intuitively wrong to everyone except for $TSLA investors, and is also flat out absurd to anyone who's taken even an undergraduate level course in sensors. Truly a Musk special.
Elon on Twitter claiming that "Lidar and radar reduce safety due to sensor contention. If lidars/radars disagree with cameras, which one wins? The sensor ambiguity causes increased, not decreased, risk. That's why Waymos can't drive on highways. We turned off radars in Teslas to increase safety. Cameras ftw."

One of the most pernicious delusions social media spreads in our age faux-populism is that there is an alternative to having an ‘expert class’. There is not. Yes, they can have biases. Yes, they can be wrong. Yes, they can even be corrupt. There still is no alternative. The world is complicated.

I’m sorry, this is just a terrible frame. The last two decades of progress were real and immense, and they’re being undone because authoritarian reactionaries have seized the government, a terrifying collapse of the liberal order. This wasn’t some predestined endpoint of “neoliberalism.”

A very mistaken list of the last 12 presidents of the United States and their years in office produced by the Ph.D level scholar known as ChatGPT-5. Includes John F. Katwady, president 1991-1968; George W. bush, president 220Z-1999), and Bill Christen, president 1999-2001

A GPT-5 generated diagram of US presidents since Franklin D. “Roesevelt” to “Goorge W Bush”, “Baruck Obama” and Donald Trump. No George HW Bush (though Ronald Reagan looks a fair bit like him), LBJ, or Joe Biden.

while we're doing WW2 discourse, the 'atom bombs were dropped on Japan because of racism' case has always seemed quite weak to me. There was plenty of racism in the Pacific War but the bombs were initially intended for Germany and the allies were quite willing to tolerate German civilian casualties.

The profound intimacy of a mother and child purchasing an initial brassiere or sanitary products is a cherished and delicate rite of passage, which should remain undisturbed by the presence of a man dressed in women's clothing.
