Today until March 31st is the Trans Rights Readathon 🏳️‍⚧️📚🎉 Kicking things off is Coup de Grâce by Sofia Ajram, the story of Vicken who on the day he planned to end his life ends up in a subterranean labyrinth with no visible exits. My Rating: 4/5 subways to hell! #transrightsreadathon
The Transgender Flag of blue, pink, and white horizontal stripes sits above a book. The cover is white, grey, black, and red depicting stairs, ladders, and hallways. The text reads:

Maintained my goal of reading a short story a day this week with 20th Century Ghosts by Joe Hill. Hill is a great writer, but this collection was tonally a little too broad & varied for me. My Rating: ☎️☎️☎️, that's 3 of 5 phone calls from the dead 23/365 Short stories read 📚
The book cover for 20th Century Ghosts by Joe Hill, re-released as The Black Phone Stories. The cover features a picture of the Grabber from the film The Black Phone, a man with a top hat, grey hair flowing out the back, face painted the same shade of grey in makeup, the bottom half of the face is covered by a mask with a menacing grin and is also the same shade of grey.

One of my goals this year is to start submitting stories to pro markets. Yesterday I saw an upcoming open call that's perfect for the only short story I wrote last year. Now I just need to stare at my cover letter a few more days, do the add/remove comma ritual, & throw up after hitting send 😆

There's a white ghost trinket bag covered with purple embroidered flowers. She has a gray face, sparkly black eyes and a little frown. There's a strawberry creature with three bulbous green eyes. There's a watermelon ghost, and a black creature with sharp teeth wearing a bulbous eye earring. There's a large purple creature with many yellow eyes and an open mouth, with a little green creature popping her head out. Maybe 2026 is the year I remember to be posting here regularly 🤔 At any rate, as I've been digesting the Disney themed cookies & cupcakes from my New Year's Eve party, I set some lofty writing & reading goals, & even have plans to train for a triathlon. Yes, let's do all the things 😆
A Christmas wreath made of cupcakes. The top of the wreath is a Santa hat with a Mickey Mouse year sticking out. There are 4 cookies shaped like ornaments on the bottom of the wreath. From left to right: a spinning wheel and rose for Sleeping Beauty; a patch of blue and purple fur for Sully from Monsters Inc.; purple and green flames beneath Maleficent's horned crown; Ariel's mermaid tail; Baloo from The Jungle Book.Another Christmas wreath, this topped with two Black Mouse ears under Minnie's polkadot bow. The ornaments are: the poison apple from Snow White; Cinderella's glass slipper and a pumpkin; Tigger's tail; Stitch's ears with a white hibiscus flower; Buzz Lightyear's outfit.A tray of sugar cookies, stacked in 3 layers. The back layer looks like Pluto. The middle layer is polar bears. The top layer is Winnie the Pooh.

Thank you for hosting another lovely week, Eryn!! As I've stated before, I've begun the work on Land of Gold's third and final draft! Going back to the Conceptualisation phase to shake things up a little bit. Here... have a teaser 😈 #HorrorWritersChat
- Blink Sigil: Lucius can phase between spots to confuse, befuddle, and ambush enemies.

- Sight-Split Sigil: Lucius splits his iris in eight ways, enhancing his peripheral vision and information intake in combat with multiple enemies.

- Body Molt Sigil: each time Lucius’ bone is broken or muscle ruptured, he immediately heals that injury without the enemy noticing (hopefully). Works only once per body part/bone/muscle.

- Moongash Sigil: when Lucius hits the target, their wounds burn with moonlight, heightening his accuracy.

- Shadesilk Sigil: household sigil of the Shadesilk Denomination. Lucius perpetually emits a sonic signal that makes others instinctively less aware of him, especially when he’s in shadowed spaces. This signal also impairs their memory, worsening their recollection of his overall features.- Faces are a critical part of their design; they are slightly misshapen and discoloured. That is because a literal part of their face and head has been replaced with the Maven’s own design. Lucius will notice that it seems as if their heads is made of two skins, two eyebrows, two cheeks. One of their eyes has a different, darker colour and shape; each time a Demon tries to speak as themselves, the eye looks at their own, real eye, immediately rewiring their thought process. When activated to fight Lucius, the false parts of their faces grow even darker and pulsate with energy.

- Their walk is oddly unnatural; everyone walks the same, with the same pace and gait to it. Essentially, every person’s individuality has been violently cut out.

- Their hands and wrists are permanently angled and indented with fieldwork tools, like flails, pitchforks, etc. This would also give them a permanent threatening/about-to-attack poses.
