Trump historically wore Brioni, an Italian luxury company that makes suits in Italy. Here he flashes a Jos. A Bank label, a US company that long offshored its production to China and Bangladesh. They carry an associated label called Joseph Abboud, which is made in US. Curious he didn't choose that.
Donald Trump in a navy suit. He's opening the jacket, so you can see the label. A close up of the suit label says Jos. A. Bank.

It seems clear to me from the elided text he meant that higher gas prices are a small price to pay compared to the possibility of Iran taking out a major U.S. city (presumably with an atomic bomb). I’m not endorsing that view or its underlying premises. But it seems to me that’s what he was saying.

After justifying the Iran war as necessary for "keeping the world safe," Trump suggested there could be strikes on the United States, including certain cities in California.
"They could take out a city," he said. "Let them take-Let them take out Los Angeles. Let them take out San Diego."coin-toss election, where any small shift theoretically could be decisive, Mr. Biden has twice caused headaches for his vice president with ill-timed gaffes. His latest, during a video call with Latino supporters on Tuesday night, forced Ms. Harris to spend part of the last Wednesday of her campaign distancing herself.
Mr. Biden was denouncing racist comments made by a speaker at a recent Donald J. Trump rally when he appeared to call supporters of Mr.
Trump "garbage." He later explained that he meant that "the hateful rhetoric" from the Trump surrogate was
"garbage," not his supporters generally.
But Republicans, expressing umbrage, quickly pounced on what they hoped

There is a tendency after high profile sexual violence to turn every conversation to prevention. Resist that temptation. It allows perpetrators and those who enable them to escape accountability. And every prevention program is undermined by a context where violence happens without consequence.

The purpose of teaching is to deliver that correct knowledge to students while showing them how much remains unknown and contested. Why would we do research if we weren't supposed to communicate what is true to others? Oh yeah - this is why they want to end humanities & social science research.

I find this claim, which is now common in right-wing ed discourse, really astonishing. It rests at the core of the post-truth vision of "viewpoint diversity": we should not teach the conclusions that research shows to be correct; rather, we should validate empirically discredited ideas just because.
Fostering this civic orientation does not mean teaching students the “right” way to think or act
according to a preferred political or moral perspective. A transformative education is premised
on developing sound judgment, not on delivering correct conclusions.
