Did everyone see the climate voting records of the City Councilors who are up for re-election? Morillo - 96.6% Green - 95.8% Koyama Lane = 92.0% Clark - 55.0% Zimmerman - 50.0% Novick - 43.5% Thank you to @350pdx.bsky.social for quantifying this. 350pdx.org/wp-content/u...

I'm glad to see criticism of the overabundance of hardcovers. I've been complaining about certain departments demanding them for no legit reason for over a decade. Most books should be paperback originals.

There was even a Harry Potter-themed date night on Married at First Sight. It's possible it was actually the cast member's idea, but production chose to air it over (presumably) less boring scenes.

Is there any chance it was "Magic Island"? There's a scene where pirates bury people in sand (at 46:18). youtu.be/W-sK2YW4EIk?...

I slogged through it as research for my undergrad thesis on the history & persistence of neo-Nazis in the US, back when they weren’t in the news every day. I’m also a queer, leftist Jew from the Pacific Northwest so I’ve always found it prudent to educate myself on racist extremists w/ compounds.

If you work for a book publisher that has introduced AI at any point in the publishing process, I'm working on a story and would like you speak with you, on-record or off-. Same goes if you're an author and you've witnessed your publisher using AI at any point in the publishing process.

The most absolutely massive flex from the state fair exhibit. This quilt is made of 40 years of prize ribbons from various categories at the New Mexico State Fair won by Carol St. Clair Johnson. She also won a prize for this quilt.

satin ribbons

After unexpectedly winning her first blue ribbon for a sewn cape in 1981, Carol St. Clair Johnson developed an enduring love for the New Mexico State Fair. The quilt Fair New Mexico-41 Fair Years incorporates more than six hundred of the ribbons she won at the fair every subsequent year except 2020 (when the fair was canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic). Johnson earned ribbons for needlework, knitting, crochet, pies, cookies, cakes, canning, jewelry, flowers, vegetables, and potted plants. The title of the quilt is a reference to the state song, and the design places the state's Zia sun symbol at the center. The quilt earned Johnson yet another ribbon: Best in Category (miscellaneous quilt) at the 2023 New Mexico State Fair.

Medicare for all is not an extremist position. Abolishment of ICE is not an extremist position. A desire for police reform is not an extremist position. A request to fortify civil rights is not an extremist position. A rejection of data centers is not an extremist position. These are VERY POPULAR!

One day I hope someone believes in you the way Alice Cooper’s first manager believed in them.
One night after an unsuccessful gig at the Cheetah club in Venice, Los Angeles, where the band emptied the entire room of patrons after playing just ten minutes, they were approached and enlisted by music manager Shep Gordon, who saw the band's negative impact that night as a force that could be turned in a more productive direction.

In all seriousness, they've been doing this for years (remember Roger Stone saying that if Trump wasn't POTUS in 2016 there'd be a "bloodbath") and the real question is why officials refused to enforce accountability and still refuse to do so. But that requires having a memory and doing research.
