We treat direct action as terrorism and we treat terrorism as legitimate speech and action. If you don’t believe the second part is true, may I just point you to the pogroms in the north of Ireland continuously referred to as “disorder” and never leading to a single terrorism charge (1/2)

The Observer deciding to champion Social Darwinism today:
While those Enlightenment gentlemen may have been privileged by their wealth and whiteness, basic evolution dictates that the world remains biased towards ‘fitness’. Almost everyone with acquired disability yearns to be able-bodied again. Because ideology cannot withstand harsh realpolitik, especially in a time of scant resources.

Whoever the prime minister is by the end of the year, the opposing forces of defence and welfare will shape their time in office. In a fractious, troubled world, reduction or redirection of the welfare budget is inevitable.

Remember Starmer ignored the findings of the Forde Report, because he was hoping antisemitism was a huge problem in the Labour Party. It was nowhere near the levels of anti black and anti Muslim hatred. So he and Blairite colleagues ignored the findings. THAT’S what I will remember him for.

I would look at the astonishingly long list of MPs and officials who suicide bombed their own careers to tank their party and put these swine back in the top jobs, and were rewarded for it with peerages and other non-jobs for life or e.g. ambassadorships, and start putting two and two together.
oh hang on, 4 fronts - that someone in no 10 was angling for a head of mission, ie diplomat, job Matthew Doyle (head of comms sacked by PM, v much not a career diplomat, bonkers idea ) which suggests they saw diplomatic service as somewhere you could park people you sort of owed one.

A mere 920 days since the latest round of horrifying massive violence began, we finally have a “this is bad, please stop”. I am assuming this is because Israel invaded a country that France regards as part of its orbit, then started aggressive demolitions ahead of annexation.

It's quite simple really. Liberals see politics as a competition for rationality, when it's actually a completion of interests. They see their own views as 'common sense' because attaching it to material politics would mean they'd have to uncover their own class politics.
