Fucking hate the ticket touters! A mid-tier popular band that pre-teen and I love listening is playing locally, and tickets got sold out within a few days of being released. Bloody racketeers been charging 6x for months on end, and finally in the last two days dropped prices to 2x-3x.

Abstract
Dynamic stochastic general equilibrium (DSGE) models have been an ubiquitous, and con-troversial, part of macroeconomics for decades. In this paper, we approach DSGEs purely as statstical models. We do this by applying two common model validation checks to the canonical Smets and Wouters (2007) DSGE: (1) we simulate the model and see how well it can be estimated from its own simulation output, and (2) we see how well it can seem to fit nonsense data.
We find that (1) even with centuries' worth of data, the model remains poorly estimated, and
(2) when we swap series at random, so that (e.g.) what the model gets as the inflation rate is really hours worked, what it gets as hours worked is really investment, etc., the fit is often only slightly impaired, and in a large percentage of cases actually improves (even out of sample).
Taken together, these findings cast serious doubt on the meaningfulness of parameter estimates for this DSGE, and on whether this specification represents anything structural about the econ-omy. Constructively, our approaches can be used for model validation by anyone working with macroeconomic time series.
Keywords: general equilibrium; model validation; time series; forecasting;

If you are wondering why Anthropic aren't coming out and opposing statements like this, it's because they very genuinely do not care about climate responsibility and will burn absolutely whatever they can get their hands on to keep the grift going. www.capitalbrief.com/article/anth...
Anthropic’s $32b Queensland data centre to run on coal and gas power until renewables are built
I frontier lab Anthropic’s first Australian data centre at Zerra DC’s proposed $32 billion project in regional Queensland will be powered by coal and gas as a bridge until renewables to support the facility are built.

Wambo Cattle Company managing director Max Winders, the owner of the land Zerra plans to build on, told Capital Brief he expects fossil fuels to power the massive project for the foreseeable future.

“I think we’ll be using fossil fuels for quite a long time in Queensland, anyhow, certainly enough to be able to get the power to drive the data centres,” he said.

Winders said that he believed that the concessions Queensland Premier David Crisafulli negotiated “at National Cabinet was critical” for ensuring the Western Downs development has the best chance of being built.

“In all likelihood, they’ll just link up to the grid, sign a contract with the state energy provider, and then, likely draw the power from the coal plants that are already there.”

5. The Beginnings of Fascist Movements.
In 1905 Milner, one of the more far-seeing leaders of the older British imperialism, described
in a private letter the only hope that he could see for the salvation of bourgeois rule:
“Perhaps a great Charlatan-political scallywag, buffoon, liar, stump orator, and in other
respects popular favourite-may some day arise who is nevertheless a statesman-the
combination is not impossible- and who, having attained power by popular acts may use it
for national ends. It is an off-chance, but I do not see any other.”
(Milner, letter to Lady Edward Cecil, The Milner Papers, Vol. II, 1899-1905.)

https://www.marxists.org/archive/dutt/1935/fascism-social-revolution-2.pdfHere we see the bourgeoisie consciously groping for the forms of Fascism long before
Fascism existed. The fact that so lifelike a description of Hitler or Mussolini could have been
penned a decade before these began to play their role is a striking confirmation of how little it is
personality that creates history, and bow much rather history calls forth the personality that it
requires at a given stage. Fascism does not come into existence because a “leader” arises. On the
contrary, because the bourgeoisie requires Fascism, a “leader” is created from such materials as
can be found.

None of these people regard the left as a legitimate political actor; they will not tolerate us weilding any kind of power over them; they see us as a problem to be defanged, stomped and marginalised in a way they would never do to e.g. Nigel Farage.
