Prohibition of drugs doesn’t stop young people wanting or getting them. It DOES prevent us from giving them accurate information about why they might be tempted to use these drugs and what the potential harms are though. It can also delay them seeking help. www.theguardian.com/society/2026...

So excited that Bristol's Green City Leader, Tony Dyer is meeting with NY's Mayor Mamdani and 48 mayors from the around the world. One agenda item is city owned grocery stores which could provide access to affordable decent food to combat food poverty. So good to see progressives sharing ideas.

The rain and last-minute punctures couldn't stop @bristolgreenparty.bsky.social councillors from attending today's @kidicalmass.bsky.social bike ride! There was an amazing turnout despite the weather, in an excellent reminder of the importance of making our city safe and accessible for cycling.

ACMD’s Prof. Anne Campbell shares data on how global majority citizens are more likely to be arrested or convicted for drugs and also to receive heavier sentences (but not more likely to use or carry drugs). Ethnicity is not recorded in many drug related deaths, so we don’t have a true picture.
