For those interested, here are images I took of the left pedipalp of a suspected Zelotes fratris male collected in Happy Valley-Goose Bay this summer. Z. fratris is not supposed to be there, but I think it looks more like Z. fratris than Z. sula

This is one of my recent favorites, a Crescent-eyed Spider in this genus, Selenops. The family is called ‘Flatties,’ and you can see why, they are extremely flat spiders. Their flat shape lets them squeeze under bark or hide perfectly against a wall. #Arachtober #spider #macro #macrophotography

A large bristly black fly with two prominent yellow bands on the end of its abdomen sits on a passiflora leaf.Another view of the Butterbutt fly from the butt end. The yellow bands on the abdomen have a greenish iridescence and a row of black spiky bristles between them, also the fly has yellow feet which I think are kinda cute for some reason.
