I'm Jewish and if a candidate triangulated on antisemitism to win an election, I would most certainly pressure him to do better *right now* and would hope my fellow Americans would do the same. I see no reason why our trans siblings and those who support them should demand anything different.

The US Web Design System is load-bearing infrastructure for thousands of government websites. It makes it easy for small teams with no resources (i.e. most .gov teams) to make usable, accessible websites that work for everyone. Today, it's as close as it's ever been to being replaced with AI slop.

I did a somewhat deep dive into the recent OpenAI and Anthropic "hacks" for an upcoming interview. IMO, the AI companies are better off running with the "rogue AI" story because the real story is actually pretty embarrassing. Like making your Wi-Fi password "wifi" embarrassing. 🧵

This is pretty fucking wild. I had assumed in a worst case scenario he would target blue zip codes and toss ballots based on technicalities but this is even worse than I imagined.
Not only is this system astonishingly untested, USPS has simultaneously implemented an
impracticable zero percent failure rate.
13 When ballots are submitted to USPS in large-volume
batches, if any one ballot in the batch cannot be verified against the Portal, all ballots in that
batch will be rejected. For example, if a state election official brings a batch of 10,000 ballots to
USPS and USPS is unable to match just one of those ballots against the Portal – because, for
example, someone has recently changed their name after marriage or they’ve moved – then
USPS would refuse to mail the remaining 9,999 ballots as well. As the whistleblower notes,

Depression can be utterly debilitating and life threatening. I'm glad Senator Kean sought help, was hospitalized, got the care he needed, and seems to have stabilized. I hope it allows him to see that everyone deserves that chance, and that he can vote to make it so. I am not optimistic, however.

It’s Juneteenth. On June 19, 1865, Gen. Gordon Granger arrived in Galveston Island & issued General Order No. 3. It announced that “all slaves are free.” This story of this one event was commemorated through the diaspora of Black Americans for more than 150 years before becoming a national holiday.

The drop in support for marriage equality last year was not a blip, it has declined further, dropping 6 points from its high of 71. Whether or not gay or lesbian relations were "morally acceptable" dropped 9 points. Support for LGBTQ rights broadly is diminishing. news.gallup.com/poll/710810/...
A line chart titled "Support Among U.S. Adults for LGBTQ+ Issues" from "image_d6a781.png" displays three trends over time. The first chart shows the percentage of U.S. adults who believe same-sex marriages should be valid, trending upward from 1996 to 2026. The second chart shows the percentage who believe gay or lesbian relations are morally acceptable, also trending upward over the same period. The third chart shows the percentage who believe changing one's gender is morally acceptable, plotted over a shorter timeframe within the 1996–2026 period and showing a downward trend. A note below the charts indicates that the data displays results from May surveys where available.

“On Tuesday, Wahl said that Kaziha and Awad drew the attention of the attackers and drew them ‘back out into the parking lot area.’” “Without distracting the attention, without delaying the actions of these two individuals, without question, there would have been many more fatalities.”
The two other victims were identified as 78-year-old Mansour Kaziha, described as a mosque elder and founding member of the center, and Nadir Awad, 57, who lived across the street from the center and whose wife worked as a teacher at the center’s school.

On Tuesday, Wahl said that Kaziha and Awad drew the attention of the attackers and drew them “back out into the parking lot area”.Kaziha, Wahl said, was the first one who called 911.

In the parking lot, the two men “were unfortunately unable to flee”, police said, and the attackers cornered and killed them. Both suspects fled the scene and were found dead in a car nearby.

“I want to be very clear, all three of our victims did not die in vain,” Wahl said. “Without distracting the attention, without delaying the actions of these two individuals, without question, there would have been nothingmany more fatalities.”
