WATCH: A reporter pressed Mike Rogers on why he called Michiganders "nuts" for worrying about rising costs, asking "Do you need to provide an explanation about why you were wrong on tariffs, why you were wrong about what was going to happen with prices?" He didn't respond well.

I ask again, why are national Dems letting Elon "quietly" fund these races? We have two test cases. 2024 when Dems didn't make his money an issue. And 2025 Wisconsin, where they did. Guess which time they won by double digits?

Elon Musk’s America PAC Is Quietly Funding November’s Most Consequential Elections
America PAC’s approach has been unusual: for every dollar it has spent supporting GOP Senate candidates, it has spent almost three dollars attacking Democrats.

It's even worse - he used to say his family escaped Castro, but then it was revealed his family fled the US-supported Fulgencio Batista. Now that it's advantageous to be a Western supremacist, he's pushing aside Cuban and going with Spanish.

This is right. The issue is that LLMs are at best a $50 billion/year revenue type business and they've invested in it like it's going to be $500 billion/year in revenue or more. The mismatch is potentially trillions in capex overspend which is enough to cause a deep recession when the bubble pops.

It's a doubly infuriating dynamic because Republicans called out Piker as if he mattered. Democrats have decided, for the second straight election, to let Musk's hundreds of millions and the flurry of Nazi hate at trans people pass by as if it's not worthy of comment.

I LOVE how @propublica.org dealt with official comment here, editorially and stylistically.
The Trump administration says none of this is happening.

"DHS is NOT arresting U.S. citizens by mistake." "There are no 'indiscriminate' stops." Allegations of "racial profiling are disgusting, reckless and categorically FALSE." "The pattern is NOT of law enforcement using force." "ICE does not zip tie or restrain children."

But that is precisely what is happening, and at a far larger scale than previously reported.

There is more to drop on this story. What the Times does not mention is that Salus, the company that got an almost $1 billion no bid contract was also telling other contractors it could secure them govt contracts - if they were willing to hand tens of millions to her boyfriend, Corey Lewandowski.
Marketing firms were told they were guaranteed a contract, but they just needed to hire a consulting firm who could serve as a pass-through to paying Lewandowski. The consulting firm would get half or more of the contract. The company that was acting as a middleman here, telling the marketing firms they had to pay Lewandowski, was Salus. This is one of the companies owned by the Noem donor William Walters.

Sounds complicated, right? In simple terms, Noem gave almost $1 billion dollars in no-bid contracts to a company that then became a middleman for others selling services to government. That company told contractors they had to pay Noem’s boyfriend an extraordinary amount of money if they wanted to receive a government contract. It seems reasonable to assume that some of the inflated costs of these contracts returned to Lewandowski.
