We have to fill out two different engagement surveys at work and both of them have target metrics and 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ Obviously none of the people behind these have heard of Goodhart's Law.

I want e-scooters and bikes and such to succeed, but the way they're being used now, I'm beginning to doubt whether it's possible. I don't think it's great to be having a bunch of young kids riding powered vehicles on the sidewalk or in the middle of the road, for example, but I see it a lot.

We were supposed to be hearing an announcement about about #CanPL expansion right around now, weren't we? It's been a bit hectic for me lately, but I don't think I would have missed that. Is it still forthcoming?

Iris Gorfinkel: How Doug Ford’s health plan costs taxpayers billions — and privatization is making it fail

To save universal health care, Ontario must reverse its path. Funding private clinics drains our public system, poaching staff and siphoning taxpayer dollars from front-line care.

Irritating, (though possibly somewhat trivial), GenAI thing: Canadians using AI to generate imagery for their politics posts, and it assigns red to conservatives and blue to liberals, because that's how it is in the US, when it's the opposite for the respective parties in Canada.

Passengers vent after being stranded for hours on stalled GO Train

Yesterday, my wife's GO Train was stuck for 2 hours. I clicked on this article thinking it was about that, but no. It was about a different train, a different route, and a different day. Are we going to start seeing stories like this daily? toronto.citynews.ca/2026/09/30/p...

This is the quote that stands out to me. If you look at the current men's national team stars, many of them had to do something similar to get where they are now. Now there are more domestic pathways, #CanPL being a big one. The future will have more of a home grown feel.

That’s something that wasn’t considered a remote possibility when Cavallini left for Uruguay as a young teenager. The landscape has changed completely, with Cavallini impressed by the number of opportunities young domestic athletes now have in their own backyard.

A warning for all who are canning pickles or anything using vinegar. You cannot just grab a plastic jar of vinegar w/o checking the label. Safe pickling requires 5% acidity....we are seeing 4% acidity vinegar on the shelves. That renders anything pickled in the 4% NOT shelf stable.

This just sounds delusional. As in "delusions of grandeur" delusional.

“Because the reality of when you're premier of this province, you can't just always fly without security,” Khanjin said. “And, the general needs to bring all his soldiers when it comes to this economic trade war.”

It's good Carney has a strong political hand to engage with external challenges, as his popularity gives him an edge dealing with someone like Trump whose numbers are in free-fall. But this aura of invincibility really sucks when trying to contend with problematic aspects of his domestic agenda.

I think one reason it needs to be clear that we vote for a local candidate, not a party leader (unless you live in their riding), and not a party, is that it leads us to think of the prime minister as having more power than they do, and giving them permission to act like they do.

Subject to ministerial review, the right to strike is likely to be much weakened by Bill C-39.
