What is an electrostate? The word has found its way into the international energy vocabulary. The Financial Times, Forbes, Ember and Carnegie all use it. But it is rarely defined. I went through the reports and papers to unpack it & found four dimensions. 🧵 janrosenow.substack.com/p/what-is-an...

Oil giants' systematic spills are poisoning Angola’s coast and its communities
While European oil giants pledge a 'zero-spill mindset' at home, their offshore operations along the Angolan coast appears to tell a different story. Chronic oil spills into the ocean leave communities without fish or fresh food, beaches are coated in crude, and toxic exposure increases diseases among coastal communities. A year-long investigation reveals Angola’s hidden human and environmental crisis.

For those interested in installing solar in the U.K., a quick summary of the current YTD for our house. We have an 11.5kW system with a 32kWh battery. It’s probably bigger than what most people need, but the solar to battery ratio works well. Once our little used car breaks down we will buy an EV.
