Journals are a scam (we all know it). While authors & reviewers provide free labour, journals charge exorbitant rates for open access/hide behind paywalls. They should at least be respectful of our time when requesting our free labour. We need a better system. #AbolishJournals #JournalShame
Email reading:

Hello,

I received the first invitation to review less than 48 hours ago. This is not an acceptable waiting period before sending a reminder. Reviewers are busy people who perform free labour to keep journals running. Adding to my already bursting inbox will only delay my response.

Please update your journal practices to reflect a more reasonable and respectful invitation and reminder practice.

Thank you,

Jasmine

Ectopic Pregnancy Deaths Have Nearly Doubled. It’s Worse in States With Abortion Bans.
With prompt and appropriate medical care, experts say, people shouldn’t die from an ectopic pregnancy. Women in Texas and Oklahoma have sued over delays in care, which, coupled with our new analysis, raises questions about the role of abortion bans.
