The European Football Clubs body met for its annual meeting, a group led by President of Gulf-owned PSG Nasser owned Khelaifi. His response - leaping to the defence of Man City CEO- is perhaps indicative of the complete mad fact he’s now the most powerful figure in European football. All normalised

Case only goes up to 2018. Several of the sameAbu Dhabi sponsors have remained in place as the team has continued to hoover up trophies and talent from rival teams. The panel suggests only about £1.5 out of every £9 was genuinely from these companies. Was it all above board in subsequent years then?

830m pounds in “sham” income over almost a decade of cheating is hard to get your head around. And even during the hearing evidence given on behalf of the club by witnesses was “false in a number of key respects” and they gave evidence “that they knew to be untrue and so had to be dishonest.”

We have been working on these stories for a decade now and the Independent Commission has now ruled. Even if some technicality appears, several different bodies have now discovered rampant cheating underpinned the emergence and success of the team that redefined English football. Seismic.

City’s defence is hilarious. They keep claiming they have irrefutable evidence they’re innocent, so why didn’t they submit that evidence over the last eight years when the investigation began? There are emails from their execs saying ‘We can do what we want.’ Who are they trying to kid

This is completely unprecedented in modern football. It is cheating on an industrial scale that has never, ever been seen before. City have made a mockery of the Premier League and every other club in it. Hubris and the stupidity of club execs mean they left a paper trail. What a stain

So let’s say Manchester City win at Anfield in a couple of Sundays time. So what? What does it really matter when those running the league they’re playing in, and will continue to lead, has labelled them industrial-scale cheats? Actual frauds. We are well and truly in farce territory now.

City artificially inflated their revenue by £900m. Nine hundred million pounds. Throw the book at the cheats and never let them back into the league.

seems like rank #1 is clearly a ban from international competition but is the next best thing forfeiting matches against them or starching them by multiple goals while keeping a clean sheet?

As others have pointed out, it is a long old season. Remember we were something like third or fourth this time last year and we secured survival on the final day. Same with Hull back in 2008. I’m also concerned by the fact that we haven’t won yet but accept that 5 games is not really a lot (1/?)

Stray thought on Tottenham and the Prem on the whole. 1. UK media and fans get too caught up on history. Most of the time the pressures applied to and perception of teams are clouded by that. 2. The league format is long and can forgive a bad start or punish a good one.

Feels bad being Spurs atm. And I get it, no wins in five Premier League games. I had a look at the dreaded table and only a point or two separate plenty of teams but I also look at the fixture list and wonder where our next win is coming from. I’m sure it *will* come but confidence is low

My partner is a Villa fan, so is my neighbour and a few friends I bumped into yday. They all said they felt we didn’t deserve to lose and should have been out of sight in the first half were it not for a few brilliant Suzuki saves and us hitting it at the keeper at times.

Not Spurs related but I see that Ronaldo has been called up to Portugal’s Nations League squad. Is every Portugal manager going to just tank the country’s chances at winning something now because no one wants to anger that man? Messi has had the good grace to retire from INTL football!

I can’t really fathom sacking RDZ or that it should even be a discussion. Surely he has a huge amount of credit in the bank — I don’t doubt that we’d be relegated last season if he hadn’t come in when he did. Today, first half was very good, second half dreadful, but we finally broke scoring curse

We didn’t deserve a point. I really can’t stress that enough. Defending was abysmal second half as was general decision making. Villa did score 2 goals from .08 xG and their first while we were down to ten men. I am losing my mind.

Well. We break the curse of not scoring and scored two but it didn’t matter. I just don’t know really. Thought we were excellent in the first half, couldn’t finish any chances, conceded, defended awfully in the second half then somehow scored two? Idk what to think of this team
