When did it become so normalised to describe often far right thugs attacking people as "scuffles" but make out anyone just trying to seek safety is a threat to national security?

I think we stand a decent chance of beating Utd. They’ve also had a dreadful start to the season and their running stats make for grim reading. Dorgu, Mazraoui, and I think Sesko are all out? I feel like our season has to start somewhere and maybe it’s there!

There’s only so long it can go on, I think, as they have to appeal before this Friday and will now waiting for the outcome from that. They’ve already basically delayed it since 2018. If they were so certain of innocence, why not present that evidence in 2018 or any time over the last 8 years …?

Case only goes up to 2018. Several of the sameAbu Dhabi sponsors have remained in place as the team has continued to hoover up trophies and talent from rival teams. The panel suggests only about £1.5 out of every £9 was genuinely from these companies. Was it all above board in subsequent years then?

830m pounds in “sham” income over almost a decade of cheating is hard to get your head around. And even during the hearing evidence given on behalf of the club by witnesses was “false in a number of key respects” and they gave evidence “that they knew to be untrue and so had to be dishonest.”

We have been working on these stories for a decade now and the Independent Commission has now ruled. Even if some technicality appears, several different bodies have now discovered rampant cheating underpinned the emergence and success of the team that redefined English football. Seismic.

And this isn’t like the UEFA ban. They can’t appeal to CAS. And they cannot submit any new evidence in their appeal. Why not just admit guilt at this point? They’ve been found guilty on almost EVERY charge. The evidence is damning. The findings are extraordinary.

City’s defence is hilarious. They keep claiming they have irrefutable evidence they’re innocent, so why didn’t they submit that evidence over the last eight years when the investigation began? There are emails from their execs saying ‘We can do what we want.’ Who are they trying to kid

This is completely unprecedented in modern football. It is cheating on an industrial scale that has never, ever been seen before. City have made a mockery of the Premier League and every other club in it. Hubris and the stupidity of club execs mean they left a paper trail. What a stain

So let’s say Manchester City win at Anfield in a couple of Sundays time. So what? What does it really matter when those running the league they’re playing in, and will continue to lead, has labelled them industrial-scale cheats? Actual frauds. We are well and truly in farce territory now.

City artificially inflated their revenue by £900m. Nine hundred million pounds. Throw the book at the cheats and never let them back into the league.

seems like rank #1 is clearly a ban from international competition but is the next best thing forfeiting matches against them or starching them by multiple goals while keeping a clean sheet?

Kudus withdrawing from the Ghana squad to focus on recovery at Spurs. That’s welcome news. I know it’s not really a big deal but tbh I welcome the news of players putting us first, you see Arsenal players do it all the time, and I really like Kudus and wanna see him fully firing this season

Yeah, time will be the indicator of this but I strongly suspect we will play well against Utd, Chelsea, etc who leave huge gaps to attack. We are creating enough chances but just not finishing them. I hope we take positives from Villa, as we broke our scoring duck

Yeah, I feel the same — with that said, Everton are unbeaten this season and Brentford are too and they ripped Chelsea apart on Friday. Newcastle was tough but we shouldn’t have lost that. We defo should have beaten Forest and Villa — Villa didn’t even have to play well on Sat, we gifted them 3 pts

I remember Brighton going on a winless run for quite a while last season, when there was even talk about Hurzeler being on the edge. Now look, they just smashed Arsenal. Iraola under Bournemouth last season went on a lengthy winless run just before Christmas/New Year. Turned it around

Villa didn’t win any of their first five games last season and finished fourth. I think that we have a big problem in UK sports media in that we massively overreact every weekend and make assessments very quickly. 10-12 games in is a good spot to make a judgment from but it feels a little too early
260
Hannah @hannahryan.bsky.social · 21/09/2026
Agree. It’s nowhere near that atm. Bournemouth (a good side) are winless, most teams above us are above by 1 point or on GD in the case of Fulham. There’s a lot of football to play. But I think we need 4 points from the next 2 games

Unlike under Frank last season, our performances *are* pretty good. We deserved something from Everton, Villa and Newcastle tbh. Look at Utd’s equaliser yday — huge deflection and a massive stroke of luck. We got *unlucky* with Archie’s chance that Suzuki didn’t know much about saving (2/?)
