I think as a reader my only real issue on paywalls is that the tease that tends to be shown on socials tends to be all that’s talked about even if that’s not what the article is about. I wish there was a better way of showing the crux of an article on socials without killing revenue for reporters.

Looks like a group of people took a risk to do an action. That’s an interesting change.

I sort of fear sometimes that I’m online too much. As I see posts on my timeline talking about things vaguely that I have zero idea what they’re about, I realize I’m not.

She’d be devastated, but then she’d remember there’s a whole group of people who couldn’t use magic and a very talented engineer who did amazing things without it. Maybe she’s out of the combat, but there are other lanes that need help. She’ll adapt as best she can and learn a few new tricks.

Weird as this sounds, this taught me movement early on in XIV. I still think at times you’re competing against the server, but I’ll try it all again.

Started reading the Manchester City charges PDF and from a legal and timeline perspective, it’s fascinating to read how they went about cheating and the why. It’s feels a bit triggered by owner pride if I’m guessing the redactions right, but legally I’ll never know.

After reading the PL charger against Manchester City, while I will wait for the official sanctions, I don’t know how they couldn’t render a severe punishment. It’s bad in a football sense. It can’t just be a fine or a transfer ban. It has to be severe. www.premierleague.com/en/news/4727...

Premier League Statement: Manchester City FC

An independent Commission has found Manchester City FC guilty of all charges related to serious breaches of the Premier League’s financial rules over a nine-season period, and the majority of charges in relation to its failure to co-operate with the League’s investigation.

She does what she can to unravel the mystery. Maybe she hires a certain hard boiled detective to get on the case. One way or another, she’ll figure it out. If she got there, there’s bound to be a way back.

My WoL tends to gravitate to the more modern or cyberpunk look, but she does have an outfit when she’s crafting and one to cheer for a team a reflection away. Funny enough, her glamours these days tend to be white and blue.

My WoL in her typical glam. It is a blue Vanguard hoodie, wearing jeans.

My WoL in her Tottenham related colors. While she’ll never have an official hat, she does her best approximation with a Chocobo in place of a cockerel. COYS!

My WoL in her crafting glamour. It is a blue apron over a white work shirt, complete with khaki pants.

It is interesting to see. It’s not like other TCGs don’t have a secondary market, but it feels different vs say Magic. Maybe during the FF set that was about as close as it got, though I’m hopeful people who played the FF set became MtG fans afterwards. Good article to read.

The meme I’m most conflicted on is whenever someone follows up an article on a DC or non-green power with Cloud looking on his way to the Mako reactor run. Everyone posts it, but forgets the actions that it implies requires a huge risk that they’ll never take. Maybe that’s for the best.

I’ve thought about it for the full day, but here is my take on the Man City potential guilty verdict: I can accept a reduction of punishment on appeal as that’s the process. I want the initial charge to be extremely severe (point deduction relegation/expulsion and potentially a transfer ban).

Based on the fact that my WoL is pretty familiar with tech on the whole and can grep it pretty quickly, I’d imagine she figured a way to exploit something in the OS of the terminal and gained root permissions to shut the machine down. Rather not risk causing something worse.

000

Roberto Villegas @vincent404.rvillegas.me · 26/09/2026

Here’s an interesting #wolqotd for those who have completed Dawntrail. How did your WoL handle taking down the terminals? Did they do some sort of sophisticated exploit or just bash the terminal into a bunch of pieces and hope for the best? #7.0spoiler.

The WSL Players Cup format is kind of interesting. I’m curious how the draw points will pan out. I also like they exclude the champions league teams. I wonder if something similar could be done with the EFL cup in the Men’s game.

With the hard work of my fellow artists, I'm happy to announce a collaborative open-for-all activity for GWF - Letters From Another Star! Inspired by tanabata and message boards, come grab an expansion-inspired notecard lovingly designed by artists and put them up for the postmoogles to collect!

Promotional text for the "Letters from Another Star" activity for Gateway Fate.

Top text reads, "Visit six different 'locales' for expansion-specific stationery to write a commemorative message from your WoL to an NPC or fellow WoL of your choice! Read others' messages for a glimpse into the diverse world of FFXIV's players!"

Center text lists participating artists and table numbers:
A Realm Reborn - TK (Table 403)
Heavensward - Kezzako (Table 305)
Stormblood - Dune (Table 301)
Shadowbringers - endy (Table 303)
Endwalker - Koba (Table 304)
Dawntrail - C-Dra (Table 200)

Bottom text reads, "Join other Warriors of Light to share memories and thoughts to create an in-character message board in the Exhibition Hall! (A commemorative photo will be taken at the end of the event and posted to social media.)"

I wonder if this is something that has to happen if they want to convert to a single app or tier. Like ESPN+ content or live events typically have ads. If that’s the reason, fine. If it’s however in shows, then no point in paying more.
