People's ability to hallucinate a version of Trump that has never existed will never cease to amaze me. His political ability, which no one in my lived experience can replicate, is he gets people to project whatever *they* want to see onto him, evidence be damned. It's really quite something.

While Trump deserves the primary blame, the truth is that the US system is set up to limit the ability of one nutty president to do all that much...but Trump's collaborators, especially those safely on the Supreme Court, have given him authority that the Constitution doesn't.

This will reduce potential sortie capacity something like 40% and put unexpected cycling strain on reactors which were not designed for it. Basically indistinguishable from literal sabotage, if you care about such things as readiness or reliability or lethality or whatever

This is absolutely WILD. Here's the dashboard video posted by @fritschner.bsky.social. Fast forward to about 1 minute. An ICE officer jumps out of a van and pulls a gun on this woman immediately before lying and claiming she "almost ran us over." *profanity warning if watching in public.

Birthdate and name matches are causing US Citizens to get arrested in error by ICE as they board airplanes. This is the same level of rigor they're bringing to claims of fraudulent voting, and is obvious as an error-prone method to anyone who has taken an introductory stats class.

This Tuesday will mark one year since the National Guard was deployed to Washington, DC against the will of the city's residents. It costs the American people ~$607 per guard member daily. Given we have ~4,600 guard members here right now, that's more than $2.79 million per day.

You cannot watch Fox News for hours a day, year over year, and expect to keep your brain intact. I'd guess Trump's perception about how Iran is going is much more strongly influenced by Fox and Friends coverage than by actual intelligence reports.

I'm convinced that strong public facing morality is key to getting us out of this corrupt and amoral Trump Era. Trumpism is a reflection of the society that produced it, and we cannot move to something better without re-anchoring society to a coherent set of real values.

Since Dems took over the PA State House with a 102-101 majority in 2023 we have had 17 special elections for vacant seats. Our nomination process is simple: the local Democratic committees meet and recommend; state party executive committee ratifies their choice. And we have not lost one seat.
