COVID is still a workplace safety issue. And on the books at least, you still have the right to refuse unsafe work. Of course government & public health continue to operate as they have since COVID’s onset—as if neither is true (easier now that it’s less likely to kill you… at least not directly)

"Why the CDC edited a key Covid metric, and what it says about the state of the virus" The CDC raised its COVID wastewater benchmarks, so levels once considered “high” may now be labelled “moderate.” The agency says the change is intended to better reflect the current risk of COVID transmission.🤦‍♂️
A screenshot of an article preview from NBC News featuring a United States map tracking "Covid viral levels."
The map color-codes states to show differing ranges of viral activity, using shades of orange (with Texas, California, Florida, and Washington showing deeper orange hues), light peach for lower levels, grey for unavailable data, and diagonal grey stripes over several states.
At the bottom, a dark grey text overlay reads: "Why the CDC edited a key Covid metric, and what it says about the state of the virus." Small grey attribution text below the main card indicates the source is from nbcnews.com.

The last breath of the aerosol-generating procedure? Scotland's new infection-control guidance and implications for anaesthesia   research-information.bris.ac.uk/en/publicati...
Abstract
In August 2026, Scotland fundamentally changed its infection control guidance regarding how respiratory disease transmission risk is managed - replacing the droplet–airborne dichotomy with the simpler concept of air transmission, and entirely removing the aerosol-generating procedure (AGP) list. This evidence-informed approach is based largely on the findings of clinical aerosol studies undertaken during COVID-19 which demonstrated that many procedures on the existing AGP lists, such as tracheal intubation, generate little or no respiratory aerosol (substantially less than talking or coughing). Removing the AGP list does not mean less protection; it means precautions are based on the likely pathogen, patient's respiratory activity, practitioner exposure and environment. Scotland’s revised guidance offers a timely opportunity to replace the inherited dogmas in international guidelines with rational and evidence-informed respiratory protection before the next respiratory disease pandemic.

The Science Is Clear: COVID Can Leave Lasting Damage Source: x.com/1goodtern/st...
A screenshot of a social media post from X (formerly Twitter) by the user Tern (@1goodtern), dated Sep 13, 2026.
The post features a massive list of prestigious, peer-reviewed medical and scientific journals where studies on the long-lasting after-effects of COVID-19 have been published. Featured publications include Nature Medicine, The Lancet, NEJM, JAMA, BMJ, Science, and Cell, among dozens of others.
Below the list, the author writes a series of short, declarative statements emphasizing that the science surrounding long-term COVID risks is exhaustive and thoroughly researched, rather than "quackery" or "junk science." The text states that infections increase the risk of a vast range of health problems, and that vaccinations or previous infections do not prevent this increase in risk. It concludes with the statement, "The only thing that prevents the increase in risk is to not catch Covid. There’s a wave now, so mask up."

A map graphic titled "COVID-19 Heat Map, Based on CDC Wastewater Data & Standard Levels" from the Pandemic Mitigation Collaborative (PMC) Model, dated Sep 14, 2026.
The color-coded map of the United States and its territories shows widespread high and very high prevalence. Large swaths of the West Coast, Southwest, South, and Northeast are shaded in dark pink (Very High) and red (High). Central and Midwest regions show lighter shades of orange (Moderate), green (Low), and blue (Very Low).
A legend links colour codes to PMC prevalence estimates, with Very High indicating a >3.5% actively infectious proportion.
Text below states that the US has at least 34 states/territories with COVID outbreaks and lists them, starting with Alaska, Hawai'i, and Guam, and ending with New York, Connecticut, and Maine. The graphic is credited to Michael Hoerger, PhD, MSCR, MBA and references pmc19.com.
A data table graphic titled "National COVID-19 Estimates (U.S.)" from the Pandemic Mitigation Collaborative (PMC) Model, dated Sep 14, 2026.
The chart breaks down data into three light blue and white rows under major bold headings:
•	Infections: Lists 1 in 92 (1.1%) as actively infectious, 530,000 new daily infections, 3,800,000 infections in the past week, 107,000,000 infections total in 2026, and 5.40 cumulative infections per person.
•	Long COVID: Estimates 27,000 to 106,000 cases resulting from new daily infections and 190,000 to 760,000 cases from new weekly infections.
•	Excess Deaths: Estimates 130 to 230 deaths resulting from new daily infections and 900 to 1,700 deaths from new weekly infections.
The source is listed as pmc19.com.
A data table graphic titled "COVID-19 State Prevalence Estimates" from the Pandemic Mitigation Collaborative (PMC) Model, dated Sep 14, 2026.
The table ranks U.S. states and territories alphabetically from Alabama to Mississippi, showing columns for CDC levels, PMC infectiousness percentages, and the mathematical statistical risk of encountering an infectious person in gatherings of different sizes.
Key data points highlighted in red rows include:
•	California: PMC estimate 1 in 27 (3.7%) actively infectious; 98% chance someone is infectious in a room of 100 people.
•	Hawaii: PMC estimate 1 in 24 (4.2%) actively infectious; 99% chance someone is infectious in a room of 100 people.
•	Mississippi: PMC estimate 1 in 17 (5.8%) actively infectious; >99% chance someone is infectious in a room of 100 people.
A footnote at the bottom critiques the CDC, stating that on August 14, 2026, the agency "revised categorical descriptors downward without notice or rationale," a process they refer to as "bluewashing." The source is listed as pmc19.com.
A data table graphic titled "COVID-19 State Prevalence Estimates" from the Pandemic Mitigation Collaborative (PMC) Model, dated Sep 14, 2026. This page continues an alphabetical list of U.S. states and territories from Missouri to Wyoming.
Columns detail CDC levels, PMC infectiousness percentages, and statistical risks for group sizes of 10 to 100 people. Red-highlighted rows indicate high-risk areas:
•	Nevada: PMC estimate 1 in 17 (5.9%) actively infectious; >99% chance someone is infectious in a room of 100 people.
•	Texas: PMC estimate 1 in 25 (3.9%) actively infectious; 98% chance someone is infectious in a room of 100 people.
•	U.S. Virgin Islands: PMC estimate 1 in 15 (6.7%) actively infectious; >99% chance someone is infectious in a room of 100 people.
A footnote critiquing CDC "downshifting" or "bluewashing" matches previous pages. The source is pmc19.com.
