Every work thing about A.I. is full of "it's iterative" and "but be sure to check it hasn't gone out of scope" and "but we all know that it can miss details." Just sounds like a real soggy hammer made out of jelly you want me to use.

In practice, AI literacy doesn’t start with building the tool for your personal use. It starts with understanding yourself as a collection of tasks who should subcontract those out to a machine. Almost no regular person’s life currently exists as such.

The story linked above involves LLM-assisted work in which the LLM presented an argument developed by someone else as its own. If a human researcher did that, it would be straightforward misconduct and there could be career consequences. We need a process for addressing this now; we don’t have one.

regardless of a person's view on various pathogens, just the visable difference between a used filter and a new filter should motivate everyone to advocate for better indoor air quality.

I am begging you not to believe gazillionaire baseball owners when they tell you Skubal going to the Dodgers means we need a salary cap. Competitive balance is not the reason they want a salary cap. They just want to spend less, and with more predictability, on total payroll. That is all.

Thanks to Canadian @shiventaneja.bsky.social for developing these instructions. The CR Box has a high clean air delivery rate for particles in the size ranges of wildfire smoke & should remove a large amount of heavier organic gas-phase components. All at a fraction of cost of other air cleaners.

The problem I have with the term "climate change mitigation" is that it sounds like some solar panels will stop it. Maybe a heat pump or two. This is broadly how politicians use it. "We gave the yacht club $300k for solar panels! Consider yourself mitigated, climate change!"

This isn't the first time someone's pointed out that AI is an easy-sell because white people (in particular) still want to be able to enslave others. It's a very persuasive argument, especially when you listen to how AI users frame the "benefits" of usage.
