The wonderful Faallaway shot the cover photo of my dreams. “Do you happen to live near a sphinx statue?” I asked. Turned out her parents did. The cover was shot at the Château de Fontainebleau. It evokes the monstrous Greek sphinx, the silent guardian of the desert, the alluring Decadent symbol.

As part of a building refurbishment in 2021 there is this liminal office space next to my library. No one ever uses it. And twisted alien spinal cords rise up from the floor into the desks. So there’s that.

Unlit open liminal space office with banks of PCs and chairs set up. Empty and lonely.

Under the desks are cables rising from power units in the floor to the desks. The cable tidies look like twisting spinal cords.
