A thing that's helping me this week, so I thought I'd share: If you dissociate (and face it, you probably do), make playlists. Find songs that connect with your best memories/emotions/traits, and make playlists. Music makes a great "save point" so you can remember who you want to be.

Spooky Season has officially begun, and we’re kicking things off with a three-headed ferret.

OK, technically it’s three black-footed ferrets, but October calls for a little imagination.

Once thought to be extinct, black-footed ferrets are one of North America’s rarest mammals. At the National Black-footed Ferret Conservation Center, staff work to breed and recover these endangered little creatures and return them to the wild.

Cute? Absolutely. Three-headed monster? Only in October.

These were three individual pieces I did in 2021. Unplanned, they became something of an accidental sequence. They then prompted me to make the piece in the quoted post, of the pumpkin dance, by way of a conclusion. Ink on Fabriano Medioevalis, each 95 × 64 mm.

The second has a playful-looking fox, half-crouched, tail in the air, looking at a bird which has just taken off from a branch.
