Just a few quick sketches - looking forward to painting some studies on the return home, especially the many graveyards I didn’t get a chance to draw.

It has been a relief to be on vacation far away from the US because that trumpet is still there, but less noisy over here somehow. So much so that I think when we are finally rid of him, most Americans will need therapy after all that. (Seriously)

US to UK converters are so confusing! I didn't realize that an adapter doesn't necessarily mean it will convert the voltage. But my adapter has USB and type c ports. Does anyone know if that will be ok for charging my phone and other stuff in the UK using the adapter?

I found a wip of this painting. Thought I'd post it. All done in fluid acrylics with some colored pencil and pastel pencil, but mostly transparent acrylic. "Memento Mori"

My desk set up, the painting on the left and my ipad reference on the right. Colored pencils and paint in the lower right.

close up while I worked on the bottom section, a sea storm and ship wreck.

The final painting, a mermaid holding a skull, eels swimming in, flanked by decorative spooky mermaids on the top, a shipwreck panel on the bottom, and seaweed decoration all around.

It is really frustrating to have worked so hard on a painting, delivered it on time to a gallery, very sore and fatigued afterwards, only to find it is labeled “AI content” on instagram. Seems like so many of us are dealing with this now. Is there a way to have it removed???

giclée art print

Here we have four mysterious, furtive and highly suspicious-looking black cats with glowing eyes, sitting together on a park bench, late at night, under the light from a lamppost. Are they plotting something nefarious - or just mischievous? Or, has the deed already been done? Or are they just four good friends gathered together to enjoy each other's company, who happen to look guilty?

Big tech paused CA’s GenAi transparency bill AB412 behind closed doors. However, over 3.8 million creative workers have come together to demand transparency! This coalition isn’t going anywhere! Its sponsors, CAA, SAG AFTRA, NAVA Voices & The Author’s Guild have next steps! Here’s what to do👇

AB-412 UPDATE
The Al Copyright Transparency Act
WE'RE NOT GOING AWAY
Artists & Creators Must Have Transparency!
The irony of a transparency bill dying in the dark is not lost on those of us in the creative community.
Big Tech is terrified of transparency. Big Tech, who has fought us every step of the way on the Al Copyright Transparency Act, has now succeeded in getting the legislature to kill AB-412 behind the closed doors of an appropriations committee.
It should be noted that AB-412 was a bill that had no fiscal appropriation whatsoever.
This will be devastating to the creative industries, their IP, and the hundreds of thousands of creative workers who bring billions of dollars to California's economy. Creative workers are struggling, and this very simple transparency bill could have helped countless people. The issue is not going away, and delaying workable solutions for such an increasing problem will only make the situation worse for everybody.
Our coalition representing more than 3.8 million individuals, brought creative workers from every corner of the creative economy together with a unified voice. Our bill passed out of the California Assembly, four committees in the State legislature, and several hundred individuals showed up at every single public hearing to say just how much a bill like AB-412 could help them. This issue is not going away. We are not going away. We are now moving to put our energy towards the next best steps.
Please take a moment to contact Assembly Member Rebecca Bauer-Kahan (916) 319-2016 and Assembly Member Ash Kalra (916) 319-2025 to thank them for their leadership in authoring and Co-Authoring this bill respectively.
Please express to them our request that they bring this bill back next session. Please tell everyone you know to contact them as well.
AB-412 simply affects too many people to simply be swept away into a corner and decided in the dark.
Sincerely, SAG•AFTRA CONCEPT ART ASSOCIATION
NAVA VOICE ACTORS AG Authors

TRANSPARENCY SHOULDN'T BE DECIDED IN THE DARK.
Big Tech wants AB 412 stopped behind closed doors. A bill affecting hundreds of thousands of California creatives deserves a public hearing.
Call Assembly Members Rebecca Bauer-Kahan at
(916)319-2016 and Ash Kalra at (916)319-2025
thanking them for their leadership in authoring this bill and requesting they bring AB 412 back next session.
