Amazon's own balance sheet presents the most compelling evidence that we are stuck in the Enshittocene, the era in which everything is turning into a pile of shit, because the worst ideas of the worst people now make the most money. 1/
Hieronymus Bosch's 'The Conjuror,' a painting depicting a medieval con artist playing a shell game for an audience of astonished peasant rubes. The image has been altered: the conman now has Jeff Bezos's grinning head, and the mouths of all the peasants have been replaced with inverted Amazon 'Smile' logos, so they are now frowning.

Proportional representation would put an end to the redistricting wars for good. It works by ensuring that if a party gets, say, 40% of the vote, they get 40% of the seats. It’s that simple. Read our report on how PR would finally end gerrymandering here: protectdemocracy.org/maps
Alt Text: Educational graphic comparing voting systems.

Top Header: "WHEN MAPS DON'T MATTER"

Main Text: "Proportional representation means every district elects multiple winners according to their share of the vote. And it has the potential to end gerrymandering in the U.S. for good."

Side-by-Side Comparison:

Left Column (Winner-Take-All Elections): Shows a vote bar with 60% gold and 40% teal. An arrow points down to a single gold person icon, labeled "ONE ELECTED WINNER PER DISTRICT."

Right Column (Proportional Representation): Shows the same vote bar split 60% gold and 40% teal. An arrow points down to five person icons—3 gold and 2 teal—labeled "MULTIPLE WINNERS PER DISTRICT."
