People were upset when the government tried to position AIDS as an equal-opportunity disease in the 1980s. They’re at it again with an HIV plan that doesn’t mention the key populations at higher risk, incl gay men, trans women, Black & Latino people, sex workers, PWID, homeless. What’s the point?

If you are already feeling stretched by gas/groceries, a big hike in your Medicare or ACA plans will plunge your monthly finances into the red. Options become cut something elsewhere (if anything left to cut), or gamble with foregoing the coverage. Lots of ACA peeps will forego…and be at huge risk

Many people infected with dengue do not show any signs or symptoms. If symptoms do appear, they usually show up between 4 & 10 days after infection and resolve after about a week. The most common symptoms seen are fever, headache, muscle and joint pain, nausea, vomiting, and rash.

Dengue is a virus that is transmitted to humans by mosquitoes. Dengue is carried by the 𝘈𝘦𝘥𝘦𝘴 species of mosquito (the black and white ones!). 𝘈𝘦𝘥𝘦𝘴 mosquitoes are active during the day, unlike most other mosquito species.

Severe dengue infection occurs upon the 2nd infection. Symptoms of severe dengue include severe abdominal pain, persistent vomiting, fatigue, restlessness, extreme thirst, bleeding from the gums/nose, & blood in the vomit/stool. Anyone experiencing these symptoms should seek care immediately.

In a private discussion today this came up: “We need the January 6th Commission hearings, for DOGE.” One could do a lot with NIH and NSF alone. There are clinical trials that ended, patients that died, young people leaving the US… and bad stuff that happened inside the agencies.
